We've rolled out new enhancements to Lexity Live

We've made several enhancements to your Lexity Live experience to make running your business even easier. Stay tuned for a future post on our updates to other Lexity apps as well.

Block yourself in Live

We've heard feedback about merchants not wanting to see themselves (and their employees) surface in Lexity Live when they are visiting their own store or testing something. We added an option in the Lexity Live settings, as shown below, where users can block themselves from showing up in Lexity Live. When a user is blocked, there will always be no notifications generated for that user if you're using Live Sales. Of course, you can always choose to temporarily unblock yourself if you are testing a new targeting rule in Live Sales.

We've also turned off the IP address by default in your customer summary page. If you want to enable it, you can do this in the Lexity Live settings.

Update Store Information

Several Lexity apps benefit from information you provide us about your store. For example, your Store Name and Store Tagline may be used in ads created by the Retargeting app. We try to detect your Store Logo automatically, but if you want to use a specific logo, you can upload it in your store account settings. In addition to ads, the logo is used by the Facebook Live Store app to construct the default banner for your storefront on your Facebook page.

We recently added the ability to select a Store Category for your store. We can use this to optimize your ad campaigns and tune the insights we generate. Just pick the category that best describes your store from a list of categories, as shown below.

Additionally, we've removed the Country settings from Store Settings. Now you'll see Country settings within specific apps, where this information will be more relevant.

How do you update your store settings? Easy! Click on your account email address in the top right corner of the Lexity page and select Settings.

We strongly recommend that you update your Store Settings. It'll only take a minute but can have a big impact.

Engage with Community Insights

We recently launched Community Insights, a brand new way for you to get valuable insights from others like you in the Lexity community. We plan to run periodic short surveys that will surface in your Lexity Notifications bar when you log in. The results from these surveys will be shared back with the merchant community so you can learn about various approaches that merchants like you have taken to address specific ecommerce needs or issues. See the results of the first Community Insights survey here. If you'd like to suggest a topic for us to explore, email us at community@lexity.com.

As always, we're constantly looking for your feedback to improve our products.

Community Insights: Tips for running a successful holiday promotion

Welcome to Lexity Community Insights, your gateway into the SMB ecommerce community.

Our SMB community has spoken! We recently surveyed the Lexity community in May regarding Mother’s Day promotions and here's what you had to say:

You can increase the positive change in store activity percentage by refining your promotional tactics. With Father's Day and the summer season right around the corner, we've collected some tips to help make sure your next holiday promotion is a success.

Prep is just as important as the promo
Before you dive in, take a few minutes to analyze your targets. Keep in mind who is receiving gifts or what supplies are necessary, who's doing the buying and how much people are willing to spend on average for the holiday. This process will help you be much more mindful of how to run your promotion.

Get creative with your catalog offerings
Think outside the box and work with your existing catalog to create gift options. Consider bundling products that would make great gift baskets for a particular holiday instead of having people search for items separately.

Turn a stressful activity into something simple and easy
More often than not, customers will find gift buying a hassle and would do anything to make this process as painless as possible. As a merchant, you can ensure a stress-free purchasing experience:

  • Present clear banners explaining what exactly the promotion entails
  • Help them find what they're looking for with temporary categories. In the example of Mother's Day, try new categories like "Gifts for New Moms" and "Gifts for Grandmothers."
  • Give customers some ideas by letting them know what most people have been buying for that holiday.
  • Optimize your checkout by allowing multiple ship-to addresses as well as gift options (gift receipt, optional free message, etc.)

Keep your last-minute buyers in mind
Many of your shoppers may be in a bit of a time crunch for finding the perfect gift. (We've all been there!) Help them out by making sure you have quick options like gift cards and overnight shipping.

Trying a promotion this summer? Let us know how it goes by emailing community@lexity.com, and keep an eye out for our next community survey in your Lexity notification bar.

We're proud to introduce Lexity Community Insights, our brand new initiative to help you learn more about the SMB ecommerce community.

What is Community Insights?
It's a way for online store owners to learn from each other about how to solve common problems, run successful marketing campaigns and stay up to date on ecommerce news.

Contribute your expertise to the community by taking our short surveys, exploring a new ecommerce topic each time. You'll see a link for these surveys in your notifications bar when you log into your Lexity account. We'll be presenting blog posts, articles and infographics to summarize and distribute the data we collect.

This is only the beginning! Be on the lookout for future community initiative announcements on our Facebook and Twitter. Have a small business topic you'd like to see explored? Email community@lexity.com.
